Hope all you Moms had an absolute fantastic Mother's Day! My day was really nice and somewhat low key in that we didn't do the brunch, lunch or dinner crowd out this year. Instead, we stayed home and Hubs and Jr. put some goodies on the grill and enjoyed time with one another and my mom. I totally enjoyed this and I had fun just goofing off taking some pics with my fam (see below) and as well as pics for this post!
In terms of what I'm wearing, I was so up-and-down guys in making my decision for my mommy's day attire. I've packed on some pounds so either things aren't fitting or they fit and just aren't too flattering. But once again Miss Anne Klein saved the day and this cute, striped number made the final cut! I say saved the day because I posted in one of her dresses before Here that was very flattering and forgiving of my flaws and I was actually pounds lighter at that time - but still with flaws & imperfections! I love the new Anne Klein pieces, especially for a woman of a particular age, but the modernity of her collection is not limited to the middle-age crowd but younger ladies can take and wear her frocks just the same. Her pieces can be jazzed up in countless ways and funked right on up! The dress I'm wearing is super cute, comfy and has great movement, while being very feminine, and can transition from different scenarios - day (with or without jacket) or play (strappy sandals and clutch). Or like how I styled it with funky fish-nets, a statement necklace, cool sunnies and velvet sandals, giving fit & flare, BAM! So it's versatile too and can be worn between seasons. It is actually just like one I was eyeballing from the collection last year but the colors were different - pink, berry, magenta stripes. It kind of reminds me a piece my older sister would have worn in the 70s. Hey, give me a big, curly fro, some large hoop earrings, big glasses and a pair of platforms and it's on! I need to hold myself to that, lol!!! Okay, enough nostalgia, but not only does this dress fit and feel really well and has a ton of sassiness, the price point is good. It was on markdown at Macy's with a coupon on top of that, yes indeed (actually cheaper in store than it is online). Macy's carries a wide assortment of AK pieces and they have sales with coupons pretty much every week. I recommend again, heading to your local Macy's to see the entire collection for yourself, and be sure to try some pieces on and let me know what you think! #SybilStreetSTYLe
