Some Fashionable Monkey Business Going On! Whoever thought monkey business could be so stylish and cute, I guess Kate Spade did when they designed this adorable tee that I'm wearing! I peeped this at a local bloggers meet-up event - Bubbles & Bloggers held at the Kate Spade location in downtown D.C. When I seen it, I immediately knew I had to have it because I love pink. Not only do I love pink, but pink animals and graphics on tees, bags, accessories you name it. I generally try to score items with pink flamingoes, but when I seen this pink monkey, I thought how cute is that, and didn't think twice about being disloyal to my pink bird friends. Sorry flamingoes I know I'm cheating and having a little love affair with monkeys right now, but the pink impish simian has stolen my heart!
This tee is part of Kate Spades Broome Street Collection. Broome Street is their new label of casual, timeless separates that easily mix into other Kate Spade pieces giving more ways to wear every piece.
Since the tee is lighthearted with an element of chic, rather than styling it with jeans or a pant, this time, I decided pull out my rose gold (pink undertones) metallic faux leather skirt from the holidays to amp up the chic factor, but with a sneaker, also in pink, to lend more of a street-style look but still fun. I've had these window pane (as we called them) fishnets for years in black and neutral, so since they're a hot fashion commodity right now, I've been wearing them with my kicks unlike in past years where I've worn them only with pumps, sandals and boots. The fishnets totally set it off along with the big throwback gold chains. I added another element of pink with my clutch from Joe Fresh (old) and topped the look off with my trustee, go-to top coat for another layer of interest and to play on the neutral color fishnets and tie it all together! The outcome was a cool, hip but fun look, full of my favorite color, in various shades woven throughout, just the way I like it in #SybilStreetSTYLe!
Although the weather has been so bipolar here where I live, Spring is in bloom as witnessed by the beautiful blossoms in this shot, it's the perfect backdrop set against this pink outfit!
